A Quick, Fresh, and Kendall Jenner Inspired Look

A great place to find inspiration for your makeup is look on magazines, TV, and the red carpet. One person that doesn’t get as much attention as her sisters, but is equally as noteworthy is Kendall Jenner. Kendall Jenner, the high fashion model member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan is a perfect example of a super easy and simple look. Her simple yet elegant makeup look is always fresh and youthful. It is a look that anyone can wear anytime of the year, regardless of your age, skin tone and skin type. This is a look that everyone should try at least once, because it is very minimalistic, and something easy for you to achieve on a lazy day, or a day that you don’t have much time to do your face.

Bold Brows: One thing that is instantly noticeable about Kendall Jenner is her bold brows. If you would like to achieve her look, just add a little bit of brow powder and stick to your normal eyebrow shape. Changing your brow shape incorrectly can be a big mistake.

Flirty Lashes and Simple Eyes: One thing that is very Kendall-esque is to not wear eye shadow. She also tends to wear a thin line of eyeliner to further define her eyes. Kendall is always sporting a super long and flirty pair of lashes. They are the perfect example of your lashes but better. You can add a light coat of mascara to your lashes or trying a pair of false lashes if you choose.

Clean Face: Kendall’s face is always very clear and fresh. She wears very light makeup that is quite youthful and light. Try a BB cream or a light liquid foundation with a luminous finish. She, like her older sister Kim, wears a glowing highlight and a very light contour.

Any Lip Color: One thing that is absolutely perfect about this look is that you can wear it with absolutely any lip color. Kendall has been seen wearing nudes, pale pinks, reds, and pastel purples However, you can wear this with any lips color that you could possible think of. This clean and fresh look would go especially perfect with the on trend lip colors of this summer, like oranges, and pinks.

Kendall’s go-to look can easily become anyone’s go to look because it is simple, and elegant. This look can also be dressed up, or down depending on the day. Lastly, this look is perfect for all year wear, because its fresh look isn’t limited to just one season.

8 Things You Should Have In Your Purse

One thing that has always mesmerized me was purses and how much you could fit inside one. I have been carrying purses ever since I was about 5. Being that I have a couple of years’ worth of experience, I have compiled a list of things that should be in every girl’s purse. Regardless of whether or not you carry a huge purse, like I do, or a small cross body bag, some things you just shouldn’t leave the house without.

The most important thing for me to have is my wallet. Without it, I never leave the house. In my wallet I keep my license, school id’s, and my various store cards. I also keep my debit card, so my wallet is something I cannot live without.

The second most important thing in my purse is my phone. When I’m not at home or using it is always in my purse. I don’t think I really have to explain why I need my phone, but I will just in case you were wondering. I keep my phone in case of any emergency that I may encounter, entertainment, because I get bored quite frequently. My phone is also the place where I jot down all of my ideas for writing. The last major thing I use my phone for is for music.

To go along with #2, I keep a phone charger in my purse. I never know when I’m going to forget to charge my phone at night, so when I’m working, or at Starbucks or Barnes and Noble, I can charge it quickly.

Because I live in an area with some unpredictable weather, I tend to always have an umbrella in my purse. I used to get caught in the rain so much I figured it would be super easy to just keep one in there at all times instead of trying to predict the rain.

Another staple in my purse is a lip moisturizer. I switch out them quite frequently but the ones that I love are the EOS lip balm and Vaseline. When I don’t wear makeup, I wear just lip balm. I have dry skin, so chapped and dry lips are something that will happen if I fail to apply any to my lips.

The next thing that I keep in my purse is a compact mirror. I love having one of these for many reasons. For one, I can touch up my makeup if I need to without having to go and stand in line for the bathroom. I also keep one in case I need to discretely check my face for any dry spots. My compact mirror has saved me from a lot of potential embarrassment!

The last few things that I keep in my purse would definitely be hand sanitizer, tissues and lotion. I am out a lot and a bathroom is not always near, so hand sanitizer keeps my hands germ free until I can get to the restroom. I like to use the Bath and body Works hand sanitizers because they smell super good. I also keep the Bath and Body Works lotion in my purse because when I do wash my hands, my hands get dry. Tissues are the last thing that I keep in my purse and I use one pretty much every day. Whether it is for blowing my nose, or wiping my eyes, I feel much better with a few in my purse.

Matte Lipsticks: 101

Matte-Lipsticks-101Today we are going to talk about our absolute favorite lipstick finish: matte! We absolutely love a matte lip. It’s just something about it that makes me like it a little more than crème or lustre finishes. We love the coverage, all of the color options, and the fact that we don’t have to touch up super often. They look perfect anywhere at any time of the day whether it’s going to work, school, or out on the town. Wearing matte lipstick changed the way we feel about lipsticks in general. To some, matte lipsticks can be very intimidating, but to day we are going to teach you the best way to wear matte lipsticks.

Definition – The definition of “matte” is something that is dull, flat and without shine. Matte lipsticks are exactly the same, meaning they don’t have any shine or shimmer. From experience, they have a lot better staying power in comparison to other glossier finishes. Matte lipsticks tend to be more pigmented and have better staying power and coverage.

Preparation – To best prepare for wearing a matte lipstick, you should definitely exfoliate first when you are priming your face. Matte lipstick can be very drying to the lips. If you don’t exfoliate your lips, the lipstick will settle into the cracks in your lips and look flakey. The application process will be a lot more complicated and the lipstick won’t apply smoothly. After exfoliation, we strongly suggest moisturizing your lips with a lip balm. Once the lip balm has sunk into your lips, which is usually towards the end of my makeup application, you can then wipe off the excess and apply your matte lipstick. Without the proper preparation they will cling to the dry patches and look very unflattering.

Benefits – There are many benefits to wearing matte lipsticks over other formulas. Matte lipsticks tend to have a lot better coverage and staying power. Which means once you apply it, you won’t have to constantly re apply it throughout the day. They also are a lot more pigmented, so the shade in the tube is more true to color.

Cons – As we stated before, matte lipsticks can be very drying to your lips, so if you have really chapped lips, this may not be the formula for you. Matte lipsticks will only make it appear much worse. Also, if you aren’t confident about your teeth or shape of your lips, this may not be the finish for you, as matte lipsticks accentuate your teeth as well as the shape of your lips. Regardless of those few things, we think that everyone should have at least one matte lipstick in their collection.

Application – When we are going to wear a matte lipstick, we exfoliate and moisturize our lips right before we do our eyebrows and prime our faces, as it gives our lips enough time to get nice and smooth for our lipstick. After our makeup is done, we wipe off the excess lip balm on a paper towel to avoid changing the finish of our lipstick. We then take whatever lip liner we are going to use that day and line our lips. We never wear lipstick without a lip liner. If you don’t have the right color lip liner, you can take a lip brush and use the lipstick itself as a liner. After our lip liner is on, we apply our matte lipstick and voila! We’re done!

More Beauty Habits to Break

Thereci-blog-6-16-2015 are never enough great beauty tips that you can learn. However for every great beauty habit, there are about two more that we do without even knowing that it’s bad for us. Today were are going to be talking about four more bad beauty habits that it would be beneficial for us to break.

  1. Using Makeup as the Only Source of SPF- A lot of makeup has a great amount of SPF, which protects you from the suns potentially harmful effects. However, you should still use a moisturizer with SPF in it as well because your makeup doesn’t provide all of the protection that you need in order to be safe.
  2. Skipping Heat Protectant- Skipping heat protectant is a big no no when it comes to hair care. Forgetting to do this is a big contributor to hair damage. Heat can add to the damage which can leave your hair dry and brittle. You should use a heat protectant every time you use heat to reduce the amount of damage to your hair.
  3. Storing Products In the Wrong Place- Although it seems like keeping your moisturizer in your car for when you run out of the house late sounds like a great idea, it really isn’t. A hot and or humid area isn’t a great thing for your product. They will start to change in consistency, the packaging could fail and the active ingredients will begin to break down. You should store your skincare products in a cool dark area. Your bedroom and even your bathroom would be a great place.
  4.  Doing just your Face- Did you should moisturize more than just your face? Your neck is just as prone to dryness and exposed to the elements as your face is and requires attention too. Keeping your neck moisturized will help prolong the look of youthfulness as your neck is a great giveaway of age.
