COVID-19: Your Health and Safety is Important to Us
Ohio’s bars and restaurants are closed to in-house patrons. Our state’s K-12 schools are closed to students and staff. Mass gatherings of 50 or more Ohioans are banned. To say that our world feels uncertain right now would be an understatement, but we take comfort in the knowledge that we’re all in this together until life returns to normal in the coming weeks or months in correspondence with COVID-19 (coronavirus).
In the meantime, we wanted to take a moment to reassure our staff, students, and salon and spa clients that we are doing everything we can to promote safety as our state works to contain the spread of COVID-19, a novel coronavirus, through our communities. This includes postponing all client services for at least the next two weeks, effective March 17th.
At Creative Images of Cosmetology, we’ve always taken pride in educating our students on the importance of salon and spa hygiene as well as helping them to develop the top-notch skills they need to succeed in their future workplaces. Workstations, tools, and equipment have always been sanitized after every use on both clients and mannequins. We’ve always encouraged our students and staff who may be feeling ill to stay home.
However, given the current situation, we’ve implemented additional sanitation measures for safety including:
· Providing additional hand sanitizers, disinfecting wipes, and sprays.
· Continually washing hair towels, bleach towels, massage table sheets, blankets and all other cloth materials.
· Wiping down all high-touch surfaces regularly throughout the day.
· Fogging spaces during non-occupied periods.
· Encouraging all staff and students to wash their hands frequently, especially before eating, working on a client, and after touching others. · Increasing the space between workstations in classes and on the salon floor to enable social distancing.
Our Leadership Team is monitoring updates from the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board (OSCBB), American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS), US Department of Education (DoEd), Ohio Executive Branch of government, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will adjust our school’s plans as warranted.
Please know that your safety and life successes continue to be most important to us. For the latest information about the spread of COVID-19 in Ohio and what we all can do to help contain it, we encourage you to visit the Ohio Department of Health’s website.
