Adapting to a New “Normal” at CIIC
On March 23rd, our lives seized to exist as we knew them. As Coronavirus stormed our shores and wreaked havoc on our communities, a lot of businesses were forced to shut down and our citizens were forced to adapt to a life of isolation and simplicity. Creative Images and our students and staff were no exception to this change. We shut our doors in March 2020 and did not reopen them until May 15th. However, little did we know how different things would be even when we were allowed back on our turf.
The government continued to enforce the mask mandate and encouraged businesses to practice social distancing wherever possible. We were also encouraged to provide sanitation stations, as well as daily temperature checks. Anyone showing any symptoms of illness were not permitted inside the building, no exceptions. Coming back to a business that had been closed for nearly two months is a daunting task in itself. Coming back to a business with new implementations and guidelines after two months is a whole other monster, but nothing we weren’t capable of achieving.
As time has gone, regulations have gotten more lax and and mandates have been lifted. However, at Creative Images, the bar for our new “normal” has been set higher than ever. Between new equipment, air filtration systems, touch-free appliances, and more, we are now operating with a whole new set of standards.
Adapting to New Equipment
Since Creative Images has been permitted to reopen its doors, we have upgraded and implemented new tools throughout our schools and salons/ spas. We have replaced everything from pedicure chairs, artist workstations, dryer chairs, shampoo bowls, salon chairs, manicure stations, and more, to more efficient and sterile products. This allows for workstations to be cleaned more thoroughly in between clients along with tools that are not only better for our air quality, but better for your hair and overall experience.

Increased Sanitation Standards
Aside from bringing in new, sterile equipment on all fronts, we have also increased our deep cleaning and disinfecting frequency. This includes full cleaning of floors, walls, and all salon/ spa touch surfaces. We have also been running an ozone machine overnight to help ensure that any infiltrated air is circulated and cleaned.
Air Quality Expectations
In addition to the ozone machines and frequent deep cleanings, we have also upgraded our air conditioning and filtration system. With COVID-19 being a infection that is spread through coughs and sneezes, we wanted to upgrade our air filtration system to combat that problem as much as possible. This system is formulated to pull out any toxins, dust particles, pollen, dander more than your standard conditioning systems. We are also swapping out our air filters twice as frequently, as well just to ensure even safer, breathable air and adapting to the challenges that come along with each season.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again– there is NOTHING more important than the health and safety of our students, staff, and clients. By no means is it easier or more convenient for us to upgrade all of our equipment, add more in-depth filtration systems, and reconstruct our sanitation practices but it is necessary. We are full believers in always moving forward and never going back. Once you raise the bar, you never lower it. We are here to provide the best experience possible for everyone that enters our building and that starts with safety.
